Family Fun!

We were able to fit in a UNC-Charlotte football game last Saturday... Go Niners! Zander really wanted a new shirt and a foam pick ax to wave during the game.... so we bought him a new shirt... no ax... thought that might be distracting and dangerous! (as you can see below.... daddy would be really happy if Zander is a Future Niner!)  We were also able to take dinner over to the Kennedys and spend some more time cuddling Baby Cousin!  Zander will refer to Emerson as "Baby Cousin Emerson" now... which is so cute!  Maddox has learned to point with his index finger this week and is getting really good at saying "dada", "mama", "ball" and what might be "Burke".. more like "Bur".  He was also sick on Tuesday which meant mommy took another sick day from work. It has been so difficult to balance the needs of my family while also working full time.  Even though I only worked four days this week, I somehow had to fit in five days worth of work that needed to get done meaning that I worked on "school" work during nap time and in between cuddles. This whole full time working mama thing is TOUGH!

Maddox still isn't walking yet but he loves pushing his walker around whenever Big Brother doesn't try to take it from him...poor little guy!

We have also had many three year old meltdowns lately... meaning one minute he looks like the picture above and the next he looks like the picture below....notice same pants.... meaning same day! He just wanted to put on his Niner shirt when he got home! haha
We were able to go to my grandparents for their Thanksgiving meal.... it was so special to have four generations together and to have our newest family member with us! It gets me so excited about the upcoming holidays!

I also took both boys to get their hair cut on Friday afternoon. Zack wanted me to have Maddox's hair shaped a little bit so he has lost the couple curls that were starting to form in the back.  This was Maddox's first trip to the actual hair salon!  Previously, I had cut the back and around the ears.

Never a dull moment when we go shopping!.... It is easier to keep both boys contained in the cart and Zander wanted to be buried underneath all the items! We also went to Kohls where Zander had fun holding a mannequin's hand for awhile while we waited in line and Maddox fell asleep the whole time we were there.  I think he was worn out from the TWO blowout diapers he has had today.... yep.. up the back and all over that cute little baby!

Baby Cousin is Here!

Since my last post, all of the Houstons came down with the stomach bug.  Zack and I had it at the same time, meaning Grammy had to be called in the middle of the night to help us with the kiddos.  Halloween was a little interesting because we felt horrible but Zander still wanted to visit our neighbors to go trick or treating!  Grammy to the rescue!  I truly don't know what people do with young kids if they don't have relatives nearby to come help out when you are not 100%.  We are all back to normal and fortunately all the sickness happened a week and a half before Baby Cousin entered our world!  I did get to have extra cuddles with my boys as we were working through the "icky-ness".  Grammy gave Zack and I an afternoon movie date so we could have a little time together after "surviving" a rough week!  We saw Doctor Strange... of course it would be a Marvel movie!  We were also able to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa after we were vertical again!

And without further ado... I would love to introduce you to our newest family member!  I have a NIECE!! It was so exciting to not know the gender and "patiently" await her arrival.  Linds went into labor on the evening of November 8th and Miss Emerson Leigh Kennedy arrived at 1:57 a.m. on November 10th.  Mommy definitely worked really hard to bring sweet Emerson into this world and I was so fortunate to hang out on the labor and delivery floor for about 14 hours before I was introduced to our sweet little one.  The boys (especially Zander) already love her so much and I can't wait to see how protective they are over this precious girl.  We are so excited to see all the fun the cousins will have as they get older and it is such a blessing we live so close to each other.  Enjoy these sweet pictures of my sweet niece!
