It is so much fun having a little extra time with my little guy! The weekends give me a chance to really see Zander's personality and enjoy the almost 18 month old that we have growing up so quickly! I absolutely love this age!! Zander is learning a few words and does a great job listening and following directions even if he can't always communicate how he is feeling. Zander and I made the trip back home to see family and friends while daddy worked hard to get out backyard in great shape for the boys to play in! Before we left for the weekend, Zander entertained himself by playing in a diaper box! I love that this kid needs minimal toys to entertain him!
We spent Saturday hanging out with my parents and grandparents. We also visited Ms. Norman and Ms. Byrd and celebrated Uncle Henry's birthday with Grannie and GranDan! Zander got to play with his best bud, Jacob, for the morning on Saturday. It was so fun seeing these boys "play" together.... or really play with their own toy near each other. Zander was sweet to share his toys with Jacob and Jacob was sweet to pass along some new tricks he has learned (like turning on the button to a toy bulldozer and sliding through the grass!) It was the perfect weather for some outside time..... which included running from all the adults that were nearby! It was so fun to see how much they have grown since our last visit!
You would think they were chasing each other and running toward each other in these next few pictures... but actually they ran past each other (as you can see in the fourth picture below)..... silly boys! ;)
We could tell the fun was over when Jacob started getting upset and Zander had a glazed over look for minutes at a time. It was naptime for both boys! I can't wait for them to hang out again!!!! :)
Just a flashback to last October......
This morning we went to visit Granddaddy, Grandma Vicki and Uncle Grant! Zander had fun exploring their house and eating yummy snacks!
The entire weekend, Zander would find pictures of his daddy (at every location we visited) and would shout "daddy" and point to Zack's face! If he could reach the picture, he would carry it with him and continue to repeat "daddy" over and over again! This weekend, he did start to say "mommy" more!! I am thrilled!! ;)
