Zander has started a new thing this past week... he is trying to smile on command... it is not at all consistent yet but it is hilarious when I ask him to smile for a picture. Here are some of his attempts at smiling for the camera....
We went to the doctor for his 18 month check up..... he is doing great!! He weighs 21 pounds and 13 ounces and is 32 inches tall. He is hanging out around the 15th percentile for weight and height.... we love our little guy! He is currently wearing size 4 diapers (even though he is in a size three in the picture above.... mommy needed to bring more diapers the next day to daycare.... he ran out that day!) He is also wearing 12-18 month clothes. I love how excited he gets about the little things at his current age. For example, he saw an airplane in the sky and started making the noise an airplane makes..... or at least the noise mommy makes when reading a book that has an airplane in it. He also noticed the full moon we had this past week and started pointing at it. I feel certain he was telling me how cool the moon was based on his excitement level while babbling random sounds. He runs to me when I pick him up at school each day... that is definitely the highlight of my day! He also walks right into his daycare class in the mornings.... I am glad he doesn't cry for me anymore.... he walks in like he is ready to hang out with his friends for the day....what a social butterfly! I can't wait to see what he does next! As you can see below.... we were getting ready to have a flu shot so he was not looking forward to the next part of the appointment.
We decided to take him for his first "big boy" haircut. We have been trimming his hair this past year..... and it has become quite a challenge. We took him to the Great Clips in town so in case it was a disaster we weren't out a lot of money. ;) He did so great!! It is definitely worth the money to have someone else cut his hair. I will no longer be grabbing the clippers for Zander's haircuts! He even tried to comb his hair while the lady was cutting it. He received a sucker after he was done... he has never had a sucker and he didn't get to eat it for long.... mommy was afraid he might choke but I think he enjoyed it while it lasted!
