Mommy and Daddy had a date night Friday to celebrate mommy's birthday!! It is always a treat to go out to dinner and have uninterrupted conversations and enjoy a delicious meal that doesn't come in fast food form! haha I love these date nights... thank you Grammy and Grandpa! We got to go to Outwest, a place we have tried to go to for multiple date nights but that typically has a really long wait and we have opted to walk away and eat at Waffle House instead! haha! We walked right in this time and got a table.... it was a birthday miracle! ;)
We also took Daddy to see all the new animals at the science center after the parade!
We spent the 4th of July at church followed by a yummy lunch. Then we attended a church picnic with a lively kickball game! We finished out the evening with fireworks! The boys had not seen fireworks on the 4th of July since 2018 so it so much fun to enjoy a beautiful show with great weather and great company! ;)
Monday, we were supposed to see one of Maddox's best friends and join friends for dinner at the park..... all of these plans were cancelled/postponed because Maddox woke up throwing up that morning. We still don't know what caused it but we opted for a calm day at home. On Tuesday, we decided to take Maddox to the dentist since his tooth was bothering him. The dentist confirmed that the tooth needed to come out since it was broken (no damage to the permanent teeth above it, fortunately)! So on Wednesday morning, we took Maddox to have his tooth extracted. This makes his third tooth lost and all three have been extracted! It was a difficult procedure since the tooth was broken and ended up getting removed in two parts. Fortunately, his recovery has gone a lot smoother than when he had the first two removed in September! Maddox proudly says he has three teeth gone in a row now! :( The larger picture in this collage below was a "before picture" that shows where his right tooth was hanging a little lower than it used to along with the other pictures showing the stages of the process and recovery as he was able to smile by that evening! I am so thankful he is back to eating and swallowing normally and starting to talk where I can understand him again! Continue to pray that he is more cautious when playing, as he typically sees no risk when he fearlessly takes on his next adventure.Amidst all the dentistry this week, we did find three opportunities to swim! Once at our neighbor's pool one afternoon, another afternoon at Zander's friend's house while Hurricane Elsa happened to be passing through (check out the clouds in the background) and then today at a co-worker's neighborhood pool (forgot to take a picture today)! We have some fun plans as we head into week 4. I continue to pray that none of the plans include a trip to the doctor or the dentist!
