And Daddy's first half marathon ever! :) We have been very busy in the Houston household! Zack and I have tried to fit in a weekly run to "train" for a half marathon. I use quotes around "train" because most weeks that was the only run either of us could fit in but somehow we made it work and were able to get 13.1 miles behind us just after Maddox turned 6 months old. I have to say I am very proud of both our accomplishments! I had a personal record on this half.... running it in 2:01:00! Just 60 seconds away from beating my all time goal of breaking the two hour mark! Maybe next year? We couldn't have done it without our incredible support team..... I got to run each week with Aunt Lindsey and Daddy got to run with my co-worker, Donald. We were able to to push each other to cross the finish line! We also had two super cute boys and Uncle Boomer cheering for us at mile 4.5, 9 and at the finish line. A special thank you has to be said to my parents who watched the boys all morning long and took some additional Saturday morning shifts so we could hit the trail early and get our long runs done at the same time so that the day was free for family fun. It was definitely a team effort and we are so thankful for the opportunity to run and now for the chance to take a rest from long runs for a bit. ;)
Maddox and Zander had their milestone checkups this week... so I had to include an update on their progress. Maddox had his 6 month checkup... weighing in at 19 lbs 6.5 oz (85th percentile for his age). He is 26.75 inches tall. Zander had his 3 year checkup.... weighing in at 27 lbs (10th percentile for his age). He is 36 inches tall. We were all smiles before Maddox had a few shots and has now come down with some sort of cold/sickness. We also discovered that Zander has an ear infection so he is taking medicine for that. We are very hopeful that these warmer temperatures are going to bring healthy boys at the Houstons! They are still cute whether they are healthy or sick and we are so blessed by the children God has given us.
Two special little guys
