It's Soccer Season!

Maddox lost his second tooth the "old-fashioned" way!  He got one dollar from the tooth fairy and was immediately confused since the other teeth either got $5 (for teeth extractions) or $2 (for coming out with floss).  Mommy somehow found an extra dollar on the floor under his bed that morning which makes us think it must have dropped out of the envelope as the tooth fairy was placing it under his pillow! ;)

These cousins now have six teeth missing each!

I think they really do love the time they get to spend together in the mornings!  They enjoying walking into school together and using mommy/Aunt Megan's school supplies before the bell rings! :)
We've enjoyed some dinners out with the family as well.  Linds and I try to meet on Wednesdays prior to church choir practice for the kids' Christmas program.  We also were able to celebrate Grandpa's birthday earlier this week!

Last weekend, we went to the Wake Forest football game.  We didn't make it to the exciting ending after a day full of soccer games but it was fun to cheer on the home team and eat yummy food while we were in the stands!

Last Friday, we had Fancy Hat Friday in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.  She reigned for 70 years so it was quite a momentous historical event as her heir to the throne was made the king and they had a ceremonious funeral to remember the monarch.

We have started back into soccer this season!  Both boys had games Friday night and on Saturday.  After four games last weekend, we are excited that they each have one game this upcoming weekend!  Both boys scored many goals over the two days of games.  It is so much fun to watch them hustle on the field and drive the ball into the goal! :)
Maddox came up to the office for his second ice pack this school year! He said he fell on his face while jumping rope!  This boy will always keep me on my toes!
We are starting to get cooler temperatures which means fall is coming with all the fun fall activities we look forward to every year.... Zander is already ready for Halloween with his military gear and serious look! :)

Spending Time with Best Friends!

Last weekend, we took advantage of the Labor Day holiday and headed to visit one of my very best friends.  Lindsey is the first friend I met when I moved to North Carolina and this fall marks thirty years of friendship!  I am so thankful that our kids had the day to play and get to know each other better.  Lindsey has traveled to various other towns and states and now lives about an hour and a half from us!  We planned many outdoor activities (fishing in the lake, baseball in the backyard, feeding the chickens and seeing the goats, and going out on their boat).  Most activities had to be cancelled due to the rain that came down most of the day but at about 4:00 p.m., Eric said it was time to take out the boat!  The kids enjoyed about two hours of tubing and swimming before we had to make our way back home to start the school and work week!  I am so very thankful for days like these where I can catch up with someone who has known me most of my life, someone who has seen me at my best and my worst, and someone who cares for me and my family as much as she does!  My boys are already asking when we can go back to their house!

It was a busy week at school but I was still able to snap some pictures to send to the family from Emerson's first year in elementary school!
I even fit an evening out with some of my very best friends in town!  Zack took the boys to soccer practice, and I enjoyed an evening of laughs, good food and good company!
These sweet cousins are now toothless twins!  I love the friendship they are developing!! I can't wait to see them as they grow older together!  Family does make the best of friends!
I love our morning drives to school.  We listen to our kid's Christmas program soundtrack to memorize all the words, say a prayer before walking into school and I have three little ducklings that follow me to my office where they entertain themselves until the bell rings.  It might be my favorite part of the day!:)
This weekend we were able to celebrate Aunt Kelly (one of my very best friends that has received the honorary "aunt" title)!  She does so much for our family: helping with birthday parties over the years, cheering on our boys at sporting events and inviting us to really cool functions her job gets tickets to!  It was so much fun to celebrate her upcoming wedding and truly spoil her when she is the one that always spoils us so much!  The boys are pretty excited to be helping out in the wedding in about a month, and I am so honored she chose me as one of her bridesmaids.  We had a bridal tea on Saturday where we dressed up and played some fun wedding themed games.  We moved the "after party" (a.k.a. the bachelorette party) to Kelly's sister's house for an evening of fun, food and drinks (think slumber party for adults)!  I have included the tame pictures from our weekend as all other activities that night should be kept between the ten ladies that celebrated Kelly's final days as a bachelorette!

First Day of School 2022!

We have officially made it through our first week of school!  Here are pictures from the start of year #18 for mommy, 4th grade for Zander and 1st grade for Maddox!

Emerson has had a great first week of kindergarten as well.  I love seeing all three kids throughout the day as I pass them in the hallways or when they are eating lunch!  Peyton wanted to join the picture as well!

Zander and Emerson have similar lunch times so they see each other every day!
We had to get a picture of Maddox and Mollie.  These two best friends had a great first day in the same class again this year!
Here is a decade of first day pictures since becoming a mommy!

We are worn out.... we hope to rest this upcoming weekend!
Maddox put "Jitter Glitter" under his pillow before the first day of school.  I'm happy to report the glitter stayed in the sealed bag! ;)
Maddox requested gel for day 2!
The fourth grade gang that hangs out in the office before the bell rings.
Got to see Maddox at lunch this time!
On Wednesday we started our new morning routine of taking Emerson to school with us!  We are having a lot of fun!

Google with their collages... I had to share this one of the two cousins! ;)
