More Snow!

We received about 6-7 inches of snow Wednesday night/Thursday morning, and it was gorgeous to wake up to!  Zander was so excited as soon as I opened the blinds in his room.  He is starting to say the word "snow"... which is just a long/drawn out form of his word "no" but as his mama, I can tell it is different. He was so excited to get out there and touch the white stuff that he didn't want to wait to put all the gear on!  You can see in the second picture, he didn't have his gloves on yet and toppled over into the snow on our back deck..... as proof... all you can see is his tiny handprint.  We were able to go for a walk around our neighborhood and make a "Zander-size" snowman.  Zander was insistent that his gloves and hat be used for the snowman and whenever he got the opportunity, he would take one of Frosty's arms and feed it to Burke!  This was the perfect type of snow for snowmen and snowball fights.  Daddy introduced him to throwing the perfect snowball, and I think Zander officially loves this winter weather!

Before the snow came to town, we were able to grab dinner with Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Boomer.  Since it was kid's night at ECW, they had a balloon guy!  Zander had never seen anything like this and absolutely loved his Spiderman balloon that daddy requested. :)  It was a great distraction before the food arrived!

Fun Weekend with Family and Friends!

My parents came to visit this weekend and watch Z while Zack and I went to Charlotte to hang out for the day with his college friends and their significant others!  Zander loved the extra time with Grammy and Grandpa.  He watched golf with Grandpa Buzz and played with all his toys with Grammy.

We had a blast as well!!  We went bowling, played in the arcade, and did some laser tag!  It was all in the same complex (bowling alleys have come a long way since I was a kid!).  We even ate at the restaurant there....it was great to have a day of fun lined up!  We haven't been bowling in a long time! Now, you can take pictures of yourself that show up as you are bowling.... we were quite entertained by it!

They had a life size Connect 4 game! Zack and I played three rounds... I won the first... he won the second.... and we tied in the third!
Laser tag was fun! Although, us adults were up against some pretty fierce middle school girls and Zack's friend, Jason.  They won... I attribute it to their ability to practice more frequently and Jason is pretty much a giant!  Here the guy is explaining the rules...... should have probably paid more attention! ;)

 Zack and Jason being silly!

Brian and Ryan setting the high score on this basketball game... twice! They had to defend their score after some other guys came and beat it!
Then, we were able to meet our newest family member.... Lauren Ruth Cantrell!  She is so beautiful and tiny! We can't wait for Zander to meet his new cousin!
A couple other pictures..... Zander and Burke cuddling before school one morning (we had a delay due to the ice/snow)
After church picture.... in the parking lot of the Loop!

Snow Day!

Ok... maybe more of an ice day...... with a little bit of snow mixed in! We decided to take the opportunity to enjoy the day off with some outside time.  This was Zander's first snow since learning to walk back in April so it was so much fun to have him exploring the backyard on two feet!  He loved wiping the snow off of every surface he could find.... the stairs to the deck, the chairs at the fire pit, and the fire pit stone itself.  Burke loved being able to run free in the backyard without being tethered to the leash.  Zander has been fighting a cold for the past week so we didn't stay out long.... but it was enough to take a few laps around the backyard with Zander riding on the sled while mommy pulled him.  Daddy had to work today.  He was missed a whole lot!

Love this action shot of Burke! :)
Just to compare this year.... to last year!

And then a few pictures from the past week.... I can't get over how much these two look alike!  They are all bundled up!
We were able to go on a coffee date for Valentine's Day.  Grannie came to visit and watched our boys while we were gone.  She brought the newest family member, Ruby, with her!

Just enjoying a little bath time!
And getting in touch with his "feminine side"..... he wanted to wear my scarf one day and another day he started pulling out necklaces from my jewelry box!  This is what happens when daddy works late and mommy has a little extra time with her boy! oops! ;)
