Happy First Week of School!

At 29 + weeks pregnant (and approaching the 10 week countdown), I am very tired!  My back hurts and my energy is gone when I get home from work! I just read an article this morning about how hard it is being pregnant while parenting a toddler... I agree with everything it said.... especially as we are in the third trimester!  The start of school is always busy and I always get home exhausted but this year has felt so much more difficult.  My back hurts in ways I could never imagine and I feel like the heat of summer is lingering just for me and my pregnant self! ;)  With all that said (aka: my little pitty party!), we have had a pretty great week in spite of the exhaustion.  Here are some pictures from the past week including the annual first day of school pictures at the end. :)
Our back to school kickoff for the staff was themed around "TEAM" so I wore my Florida Jersey which barely fit.... Zander loved matching mommy that day!
He also loved picnic and PJ day at his "school"..... he proudly carried his Spiderman lunch box and made it in his PJs all day.... no potty accidents!
Dad took Boomer and Zack to the Wyndham Championship this past weekend.  Zack and I traded off halfway through the day so I could experience my first golf tournament.  It was so much fun to see the action up close!

Our seats at the 15th green
Watched Davis Love III make an eagle which moved him to first place.... he ended up winning the tournament!
Tiger Woods
The line to get on the buses to get back to our car.
All smiles.... except for Uncle Boomer who got sunburned!
The line behind us waiting for the same buses... at least the people are pretty happy!

Fun Times with our Florida Family

I took Zander "back home" for the weekend to enjoy a visit with my grandparents who are visiting from Florida.  It is always so special when Zander can spend time with his great-grandparents.  We were able to enjoy the splash pad and take it easy around the house.  As you can see, Grammy (and mommy) got wet at the splash pad since Zander thought it was more fun running through the water with us than by himself.  It was fun going to church as a family this morning and taking some pictures of the four generations.

Hello Third Trimester!

Last Sunday started our third trimester with "Thunderbird".  I can't believe we are in the home stretch with our little boy! It has been interesting timing because I started back to work on Monday.  I forgot how tired I can get working the 10 hour days, spending time with Z and growing a baby!  I can definitely tell we are in the third trimester.  My back has been hurting pretty bad, and at the end of the day I rush to put my feet up!  Before I started back to work, we started arranging the nursery so we would have a sense of beginning the process of welcoming baby boy home in a few short months.  I am including pictures to document 27 weeks and counting, the beginning stages of our nursery (we even added some curtains!), and a cute picture of Zander getting set up to play outside with his Spiderman chair and hat.  I love all my boys! There is never a dull moment!

"Thunderbird"'s room

On a sentimental note, three years ago TODAY I found out I was going to be a mommy!! Zack and I looked at the pregnancy test and discovered we were pregnant with our Zander! It is crazy how time flies and all the blessings that have come from those two pink lines!  And with regards to baby #2, I will be going in to the doctor's office today for a second glucose test (three hours this time).  I failed my first glucose test (I hate failing at anything....especially something that involves the health of "Thunderbird").  Please pray that everything goes well this morning, and we can continue to grow a healthy baby boy.

Summer Break: Week 6

Well... this concludes my summer break with Zander.  I am so sad that our summer is over and I will be heading back to work on Monday.  We have had such a great time and I know the next "break" we have will be shared with an adorable newborn!  I think Zander and I have truly enjoyed the mommy-son time we were blessed to have.  Here are some pictures from our final week of fun!
frozen yogurt on mommy and daddy's anniversary

making cookies using cookie cutters (just like Christmas!)

Except....mommy didn't make the dough from scratch and opted for Betty Crocker's recipe.....it turned out better when we kept their circular shape and added sugar on top! (lesson learned!)

watching some morning TV since mommy didn't get dressed before Z woke up this day!  (He moved the pillow like that!)

Zander requested the "fish face" for this one!

Day at the Children's Museum

To my oldest boy, Zander:
I have truly enjoyed our summer together.  We started the first day of our "break" with some potty training!  That day you went through approximately 18 pairs of underwear (not exaggerating!).  Since then, you rarely have an accident and love when I sing the "pee pee in the potty" song.  I hope you will continue to do just as well back at "school" next week.  Remember peeing in the bed is "yucky" as you say!  My favorite times of the day are waking you up in the morning and you trying to hide underneath your blanket.  You have the biggest smile and are always ready to start the day! I love that you want to go "swimmin'" every day, and you are trying to play with your brother Burke more.  You have been so patient on the days that mommy hasn't felt well (yes I have still had some morning sickness....thank you "Thunderbird").  You constantly request pizza, a sandwich or chicken and fries for lunch.  Although you rarely get the requested meal..... you are always optimistic that it might be on the menu!  I loved going to the movies with you and getting a popcorn and drink to share.  I loved that you would sit in my lap and watch the movie (only having me cover your eyes during the "scary" parts.... thank you fire-breathing dragons!)  Your vocabulary amazes me at this point..... since I didn't know when you were actually going to put words together to make sentences.... just yesterday you said your cereal bar was "delicious" (and the word was as clear as could be!)  Thank you for all the fun times we have shared this summer!! I know each year will just get better from here!  I love you!
Mommy ;)
