We went to Disney World!

Thanks to the generosity of Grammy and Grandpa, we got to spend the whole week in Florida for Spring Break!! The weather was beautiful (and sometimes hot!)  The boys did surprisingly well for being out of a routine and all of us sleeping in the same room.  Grammy and Grandpa came to the rescue a couple nights and had Maddox stay in their room in the pack-n-play.  I will have to admit I am quite exhausted.  Maddox is still getting up in the night to nurse and Zander missed his naps most days while we were gone, causing mommy and daddy to have to use more timeouts and other reward/consequence motivators while we were out of town.  While the Houstons tried to keep the pace of the other adults, we found we sometimes had to slow down to allow for a little downtime for the boys.  This was definitely a trip we will never forget!  My favorite parts were watching Zander's excitement as he saw various Disney characters for the first time, watching him ride on various rides I remember so well from my childhood, and seeing him at the electric parade wave to the characters and floats that passed by.  Maddox was super happy most of the time and even was introduced to a pool for the first time.  However, he is teething and he was more fussy this week than I think he has been in his entire life!  I think it was also hard on him to nurse with so many distractions around.  He sometimes ate more frequently than usual due to these distractions.  My sister jokes that there must be a good reason that children under 3 are free..... Walt Disney World must know that typically people don't venture out with their two young children for their first experience at such a young age!  It has already gotten me excited for when we can return when the boys are older!  We ate the most delicious food all week and were able to stay at one of the resorts so we took buses and monorails to get between various places.  We even got to eat breakfast at Chef Mickey's and meet all the Disney characters.  I am including the Memory Maker photos we had taken along with some of my personal pictures from the trip.  There was so much to see and do! I will try my best to summarize the highlights through pictures.....
We went to Animal Kingdom on the second day we were there.... our favorite parts were the safari and Lion King show!

We went to Epcot in the middle of the week.  We loved the Nemo ride the most!  We were able to see some aquatic life in the aquarium there.

Our first and last day was reserved for the Magic Kingdom!  The first ride (after the carousel) that we did was Its a Small World.... which used to be my absolute favorite when I was a kid!

Zander's favorite meal was definitely eating breakfast at Chef Mickey's!  They even gave him a cupcake for his upcoming birthday!

And now for some amateur photos.... the boys rode in style all week! I also brought my Ergo carrier which both boys used at various times!
Some cool guys in shades!! It was so hot that Maddox spent most of his time in a onesie rather than whole outfits!

 Sink baths are the best!
The only souvenirs we purchased were a bubble maker for Zander and a fan mister for Maddox (to cool him off)!  Zander used his Little Mermaid themed bubble maker every day! It was especially helpful when he couldn't go on the adult rides and we were waiting for the rest of our family to join us! ;)
 The safari at Animal Kingdom.....

Did I mention that Maddox was teething?!  And that he decided to have a slight meltdown in the middle of one of our nice dinners??
As soon as I took him outside.... he was like this picture below....
 Buzz X 2....
 Hulk entirely out of Legos!
 Trying on Minnie ears!
Sometimes you just need a nap.... but don't make me part with my bubble maker! ;)
 Breakfast at Chef Mickey's....

 Lunch in Norway......
His favorite thing to do......ride the carousel!
Getting ready for the parade.... that started at 10:00 p.m.!

Maddox's new facial expression!! It is adorable!
