Summer Break 2021: Week Two

I cannot believe week 2 of summer break has already coming to a close..... the time is flying by!  Here is how we spent week #2!

We celebrated my birthday with family at a local Japanese restaurant!

The boys enjoyed picking blueberries from our bushes in the backyard!

Zander helped lead worship on Sunday for KidStreet!  I happened to see the end of it with him on stage leading the kids in the motions while his little brother was following along in the crowd!
Zander went to a neighboring church for VBS... he enjoyed spending time with one of his best friends, Taylor!  One of his sessions included outdoor adventures such as ziplining!

While Z was at church each night, Maddox and I were able to have some one on one time.... going for a bike ride and playground time, going grocery shopping and even playing basketball with daddy one night! I think he enjoyed this week as well!
We fit in two pool days this week.... one to the YMCA pool and one to Mia's neighborhood pool!  These boys love being in the water!  We might go swimming later today at a friend's pool but it is raining as I type this so I am not sure!
We went to the science center with the Kennedys, Williams family, Grammy and Grandpa!  We loved seeing all the animals so active!  These kids had a blast!
One night while Z was at VBS, Linds and the kids came over for dinner.  I painted Emmy's fingernails with rainbow colors.  Maddox wanted his done too since Emerson was getting all the attention!  I told him we would have to take it off for three reasons.....1.) Girls usually paint their nails, not boys. 2.) He bites his nails which makes it hard to paint. and 3.)  He still sucks his thumb when he sleeps which I said thumb-sucking won't work with painted nails.  HAHA
Thursday and Friday have brought us days of getting chores done and running errands.  Yesterday, we cleaned the house and mommy mowed the lawn.  Today we are taking the car to get inspected and to get Burke's toenails cut.  We are trying to find a good balance of relaxation and productivity.  Maddox busted his upper lip and top teeth (including the gap that is already missing teeth) on the medal bar that holds Zander's bed while I was vacuuming the stairs yesterday.  It looks like a third tooth will be coming out soon (next to the gap) and he is pretty scratched up.  He is having a hard time swallowing, eating and talking again.  Prayers are appreciated for a speedy recovery and that my boys will find ways to entertain each other that don't involve physical contact.  Being a "boy mom" is challenging at times. Prayers are appreciated for this mama as well!
