Back to Work/School We Go!

We had to get a hair cut so we were officially ready to go back to school.  Zander does so great at his hair cuts now and Maddox doesn't fight it.  He is sometimes just a little squirmy and hard to catch on camera (hence why it is easier to get a picture of him these days in his car seat!)

Burke went on Tuesday for his surgery and didn't get to come home until Thursday.  Two surgeries prior to his took longer than anticipated so he got "bumped" until Wednesday morning.  It took him awhile to come off the anesthesia so they kept him Wednesday night for observation.  We should find out in the next few days if the tumor was benign or malignant.
Zack and I went to a local water park for the day to celebrate our anniversary.  It seems like we really got to stretch out the celebrations this year.  He really wanted to do this so we headed out for a day of fun.  The temperatures were in the 70s and it rained most of the day.  This meant that we got to ride all of the rides many times!  We truly felt we got our money's worth and were definitely sore the next day from all the movement!
The boys were cuddling in our bed one evening and it was the sweetest thing.  Since Maddox rarely sits still these days, it was so special to snuggle with them for a few minutes before bedtime!
Burke came home..... with a cone!  He is not a fan!
Since I went back to work this week,  Grammy watched the boys!  She had fun activities planned each day.  They got to go on train rides, a carousel, and to the pool!  They were so spoiled that it might be hard for Zander to go to preschool on Monday!  Maddox gets to stay at "Grammy Daycare" a little longer... he will start at the beginning of September based on his age.

Burke has had to be confined to his crate during the day while I am at work.  He is definitely excited when I get home!  He is used to having the house to himself while we are all gone.  This will be an adjustment until the staples come out!
The boys got to meet their teachers!  We had open house last night at their preschool.  I can't believe that Zander will be starting kindergarten this time next year!
After open house, we went out to dinner with the Whites.  Zander says "Mommy, we are holding hands"... and I just had to snap this picture as we were driving down the road!
Its hard to believe that five years ago tomorrow (August 13th) I found out I was going to be a mommy!! How has it already been five years of loving on these boys!?  I feel so blessed to be called the mommy of these two!  The days are sometimes long but they are always worth it!
