The Houstons were all supposed to go back home on Friday to celebrate Jacob's birthday and Baby Stanwood. However, Maddox woke up on Friday morning just feeling "icky". He was super fussy, clingy and had a runny nose. He is currently working through an ear infection and we figured 5 hours in the car and not sleeping in your own bed might make for a miserable toddler! So.... after a quick change of plans... I headed west with my oldest for a day trip on Saturday! We stopped at a rest area to use the restroom and snap a couple pictures. Zander was an amazing traveling companion and we had a blast all day!
First stop: Jacob's 4th birthday party.... it is always so sweet to see the boys together! I still can't believe they were born three weeks apart. We haven't missed a party yet and this one was another great celebration! Liz had the cutest decorations for a dinosaur themed safari.... Jacob loved wearing his backpack the whole time so he was ready for any dinosaur adventure. Even Lydia and Zander spent a little time together eating lunch. ;)

Next Stop: Aunt A's Baby Shower hosted by the Houston/Cantrell Women (and Zander... since he was my traveling buddy all day.... not the most ideal situation but Zander did a pretty good job helping Aunt A open presents and clean up trash). Zander did mention he didn't want to "take a shower" when I told him we were going to a baby shower..... I had to clarify and say it was like a "fancy party" so he would change into his "church clothes". ;)

Daddy sent me a picture of the boys back home while we were at the shower.... to show Maddox seemed to be doing better... maybe a tooth instead of an illness?? We did notice a new one this weekend! Its always hard to tell what is going on when they are young!
Final Stop: To visit Mrs. Norman who was recovering from a fall a couple weeks ago. Zander loved seeing GranDan too!
A few other highlights from the week..... Maddox loves corn on the cob! Emerson and Grammy came to visit me at work (doesn't she look so grown up here?!) The boys enjoyed using their watering cans from Grannie (even though we have had a great deal of rain this week! haha) We found out the Whites are having a GIRL at their gender reveal on Thursday night... check out the pink inside of the doughnut! Maddox enjoyed his dinosaur that Zander brought back for him from Jacob's party. And my boys are officially getting bigger.... I now have brothers in forward facing car seats! Maddox is loving the new view!
