Happy New Year 2016!!

We have had a wonderful week together as a family of five (including Burke!)  Zack took the week off from work (since he had a few vacation days left for 2015) so we did our best to soak up family time and also try to get a few household projects completed.  It was bittersweet to see 2015 go as that was the year we found out we were going to have another BOY and that was Maddox's birth year.  We also gained a brother in law this year with Zack's sister getting married in September.  However, we know that there are many more important milestones, occasions and trips ahead for 2016 so we are excited to see what this year has in store for the Houstons!  It has been a great start to the year already.  Here are some of the fun things we did this week.
Took the boys to a park to enjoy the warm weather before it started to cool down

Maddox had his 2 month check up..... 13 lb 10.5 oz... he is already in size 2 diapers and I am getting ready to unpack the 6 month clothes from the closet!

Grocery trips are always fun with two kids!

Maddox met Linda Crumpler (one of mom's best friends).  She made him a beautiful sweater!

Date Night (saw the Star Wars movie and ate dinner at Giadas)

New Year's Eve at our house..... four cute little boys kept us from seeing the ball drop but we had fun until their bedtimes!

Cheered on the Gators (so sad they lost!)

Went for a run.... my first 7 mile run since last March (when I found out I was pregnant!)..... We are working toward a half marathon at the end of April.  I might need to slow down just a bit.... I don't know if I was in the best shape to tackle that distance! haha
I want to say a special thank you to my parents on this blog post.  2015 was the year that they moved to be closer to us and our kids.  I can't imagine all the sacrifices they made to make this move a reality.  I know they are missing their friends and family back "home" but this move has made our house and town feel so much more like home by having them close by.  They have given Zack and I the opportunity to have more "dates" (going for a run counts!) in the last two months than we have had in the past 2.5 years that we have been parents.  They are constantly available if we need them and have made our transition to a family of four so much easier!  Thank you Grammy and Grandpa for moving closer to us and giving our boys the chance to spend time with you like Linds and I had the opportunity to do with our grandparents growing up!  This time spent with family is so special and will be cherished by our boys for years to come!  We love you!
